The KwaZulu-Natal College of Nursing (KZNCN) is now accepting online applications for the 2026 intake of the Diploma in Nursing. Follow this guide to apply successfully.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
You must meet the minimum academic requirements:
For Matric before 2008
- Minimum of 25 points
- English: E (HG) or D (SG)
- Biology, Physical Science, or Physiology: E (HG) or D (SG)
- Mathematics: E (HG) or D (SG)
For Matric from 2008
- National Senior Certificate (Diploma pass or higher)
- Minimum of 25 APS points
- English Level 4
- Home Language Level 3
- Mathematics Level 3 or Mathematical Literacy Level 5
- Life Sciences or Physical Sciences Level 4
- Life Orientation Level 4 (mandatory but not scored)
- Any other two subjects
Step 2: Prepare Your Documents
- Matric Certificate (certified copy)
- South African ID (certified copy)
- Proof of residential address (or affidavit)
- Proof of SA citizenship (e.g., birth certificate or ID)
- Marriage/divorce certificate if applicable
Tip: Certification must be valid for at least 3 months from the date of application.
Step 3: Access the Online Portal
Visit: https://kzncn.kznhealth.gov.za
Step 4: Create Your Profile
- Click “Apply” on the website https://kzncn.kznhealth.gov.za
- Fill in your personal details accurately to create an account
- Create a secure password (make note of it not to lose it)
- Verify your contact details if prompted
- Click “Register“.
Step 5: Complete the Application Form
- Enter your academic history
- Upload certified documents
- Select “Diploma in Nursing” as your programme
- Review all details before submitting
Step 6: Save Your Reference Number
After submission, you’ll receive a reference number. Keep it safe for tracking your application.
Step 7: Wait for Shortlisting
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. You may need to present physical certified documents for verification.

- No emailed, faxed, or hand-delivered applications will be accepted
